Is Semi-Private Training Right for You?
Is Semi-Private Training Right for You?
Not every fitness journey looks the same - and that's exactly the point. At Equity in Elkton, MD, we offer a range of training options for people across Cecil County, Newark, DE, and the surrounding area. Semi-private training might be exactly what you've been looking for.
Our Four Training Options
Fitness is not one-size-fits-all. That's why we built four distinct ways to train with us at Equity - serving members from Elkton, Newark DE, North East MD, and all across Cecil County - each designed for a different kind of person, goal, and comfort level.
What Is Semi-Private Training?
Semi-private sits in the sweet spot between personal training and group classes - and it's one of the most popular options for people in Elkton, Newark DE, and Cecil County who want real coaching without the full cost of one-on-one personal training. You get a program built specifically for you - but you train alongside up to three other people, each working through their own individualized plan.
Throughout the session, a coach checks in with everyone individually - cueing movement, answering questions, and making sure everything is tracking. You get that personal training attention and accountability, at a lower price point, with the added energy of training alongside others.
It's not a watered-down version of personal training. It's a genuinely different - and for many people, better - way to train.
Why Semi-Private Leans Toward Strength
Most people who choose semi-private come in with strength as their primary goal - and for good reason. Building strength requires a structured, progressive approach that's hard to fully personalize in a group setting.
In semi-private, we map out exactly where you're starting, where you're headed, and how to get there - then build on it every single session. It's precise, intentional, and built around you.
How It Pairs with Group Training
One of the best things about semi-private is how seamlessly it fits alongside group classes. Love your group sessions but want more focused attention on a specific goal? You can do both - and we'll make sure the two work together, not against each other.
Real examples
- Do one semi-private session per week focused on pull-up strength, then group classes the rest of the week
- Once you've hit that goal, shift focus - deadlifts, lower body strength, whatever's next
- We coordinate your semi-private and group programming so they complement each other
- Two days semi-private, three days group - a full week of training that actually has a plan
Who Is It Perfect For?
Semi-private is a great fit if you fall into one of these two categories:
You love group training but want to add targeted work on something specific - a skill, a lift, a particular weakness.
Group classes feel like a lot right now, but you still want coaching, accountability, and a program that's yours.
Some people use semi-private as a permanent home. Others use it as a bridge until they're ready for group. Both paths are completely valid - and we'll support you through either one.
Feeling Stuck? That's What Goal Reviews Are For
Every three to six months, we do goal reviews to check in on what's working and what might need to change. Seeing great progress? We keep going. Hitting a plateau? We figure out why - whether that's training, nutrition, sleep, or something else - and map out the next step together.
Semi-private often comes up during these reviews as a natural next move for members who are ready for something more focused.
