After first starting CrossFit in our garage, and then slowly joining a gym, the progress I was able to see with learning new movements and slowly getting stronger gave me the motivation to continue learning and grasping for more. I have been doing CrossFit for over 12 years now, and I can still see changes and growth. There are always new things to learn and to get better at every day; not just physical but mental challenges as well. Gymnastics and Olympic Lifting are my favorite things to do that require skill and technique which can always be improved. Coaching allows me to teach others how to move with a purpose and gives me the opportunity to watch them grow and progress each and every day.

Outside of the gym, I enjoy going on adventures with my husband (Berek) and daughter (Eleanor “EL”). Spending time with friends, having a nice cocktail, listening to music and eating some delicious food. I like to craft/sew/quilt on occasion, I enjoy bowling and love baking the not so healthy desserts.

Started CrossFit due to boredom at the gym and lack of results. After starting CrossFit the results came and the boredom left. Helping others is another huge part that is fun and rewarding, the look when someone has that light bulb moment is wonderful.

Outside of the gym I enjoy spending time with my wife (Krista) and daughter (Eleanor). I also enjoy turn based RTS games (Total War: Warhammer), reading (sci-fi, fantasy, fitness), cooking, whiskey (bourbon and scotch) and cocktails (classic).

I would love to take credit and say that I sought out CrossFit all by myself because I knew it would be a perfect fit for me, but I would be lying. I started CrossFit in 2012 when Equity officially opened its doors. I didn’t know it then, but this was the best thing that ever happened to me.

While I have been an athlete my entire life, CrossFit was something completely new to me and I had a major fear of sucking at it. I had just finished up my college soccer career, something I was fortunate to find many successes in. I was a two time All American, and leading goal scorer at Davis & Elkins College. I was coming off of what I thought was the peak of my athletic abilities. I owe many thanks to Berek, Krista, and the CrossFit community at Equity for filling that void that soccer left. Intimidated me, going from a competitive collegiate athlete to a newb and amateur CrossFitter has now turned into me being the fittest and happiest version of myself. I love everything about CrossFit and the positive changes and people it has brought to my life.

While CrossFit obviously takes up the majority of my time (and I wouldn’t have it any other way), I also love spending time with my family, friends, and my fur baby Mya. When I am not in the gym, you can likely find me enjoying a good cocktail, doing something outdoors, or enjoying a lazy Sunday watching football.

I came to Equity in 2018 as a personal training client. As a registered nurse, I understood the importance of taking care of myself, but I just couldn't seem to figure out where to start. I tried every diet and every new exercise fad, with no lasting success. I was not happy with how I looked, but more importantly how I felt. I knew I needed to make some changes in order to improve my longevity and my quality of life, so I started working with Krista and never looked back. She introduced me to a healthier lifestyle by showing me how to eat better and move more.

When I started at Equity, I was ABSOLUTELY NOT going to join the group classes and now, I attend 5-6 days a week. Since joining Equity, I have gained confidence and strength, but more importantly I have gained a community where I truly feel I belong. When I'm not at the gym, I am a wife and a mom to four children. I like to hike, camp, and paddle board. I also like to read and explore new places with my family, friends, and my dogs.

I started CrossFit in 2017 after needing a change in my life both physically and mentally. I am incredibly thankful for Equity and the community I have grown to love since joining the gym!

Even though I had been an athlete for most of my life, I played soccer in college and have also participated in competitive horseback riding on and off, working out in a gym was a surprisingly foreign concept to me. Walking into CrossFit Equity for the first time was absolutely terrifying. Luckily it only took a short time for me to notice the physical changes I so craved but I also found myself becoming more and more confident in my abilities in the gym and also life in general outside of the gym. The members at CrossFit Equity have turned into my best friends and I love everything about this gym that has had such a huge positive impact on my life!

Outside of the gym I love spending time with my family, friends, and my dog! I love checking out local breweries and trying craft beers and doing just about anything outdoors!

I have been a part of Equity since January of 2013.   From the start, I loved seeing progress and results, I have participated in many competitions from individual, partner, masters, and The Open over the years.  I have ventured into many of the different class times throughout my time at Equity, but I generally like working out in the morning during the 6:00 AM or 9:30 AM classes.

I was the Physical Education teacher at Kenmore Elementary for 30 years. I first joined the Equity staff in 2014 to coach the Youth class for ~1.5 years after receiving my CF L1 and CF Kids training certificates.  I have moved on to coach the Legends class, On Ramp sessions, Group Classes, and help with other jobs for Equity.

In 2016 I had shoulder surgery, did my PT, and slowly made my way back into classes and rebuilding my strength; I never gave up on CrossFit, which was something that I enjoyed and was a part of my daily routine.  Being a masters athlete myself, I am very passionate about helping others my age stay active and healthy.  Alongside a couple other members, I helped start the Equity Legends class in 2018, led by masters and for masters.

Outside of the gym, I enjoy spending time with my 2 sons, husband and dog.  I like to travel and hike and enjoy the outdoors. I am very crafty and love doing DIY projects.  Other than CrossFit I enjoy running and have participated in the Philly ½ marathon along with several other local events.

I started CrossFit in the kids class at Equity back in 2014. Since starting at Equity I have seen enormous benefits to my personal health and general fitness in my day to day life. I started coaching back in 2021 and it has grown to be one of my biggest passions. Equity really has been one of the best parts of my life for the past years and I love getting to spread the positivity and work ethic that is bred in this establishment.

Outside of Equity I am a timber framer for my day to day job. CrossFit has really helped me immensely with my daily job as well due to the large structures we erect and put together. I also have a large interest in trucks, trading card games and a lot of other nerdy activities.

My CrossFit journey began in 2011 when I was looking to transition from many years of following a traditional bodybuilding training approach to a more comprehensive strength and conditioning program. Fortunately, a CrossFit affiliate opened near my employer and after my first class I was immediately hooked. I knew I had found a fitness methodology that would allow me to reach a level of fitness I never thought possible at the age of 43.

I found Equity Fitness in late 2014 when looking for a CrossFit Kids program for my then 10-year old daughter. Since joining, I have been extremely impressed by the sense of community instilled at Equity, where we truly are a fitness family. After training as a masters athlete for several years, I decided to take the next step and get my CF-L1, which will enable me to expand my passion for fitness into a coaching and programming role.

Outside of the gym, I work as an educator at the University of Delaware, am a dad to two wonderful kids, enjoy playing an occasional round of golf, hanging out with friends and doing a little traveling.

I graduated from Salisbury University in 2014, majoring in physical education and currently teaching in Cecil County. With a strong background in Football and Track and Field, I was first introduced to CrossFit in the spring of 2014. I quickly fell in love with not only the competitive nature of the sport but the community behind it. I have a passion for coaching and helping others succeed and reach their goals.
