Ashley Modaressi - 2024 QF Athlete

We have 19 of our members make it to the Quarterfinals of the CrossFit Games this year. These individuals are the top 25% of the field. What helps them reach this level of success? Lets find out.

Ashley qualified for Individual Women and Women (40-44)

1. How often do you train? What do you do for recovery? What does your nutrition look like?

I try to MOVE every day. Some days I get a 30 min walk and I consider that a win. I try to do something CrossFit style 2 times a week. Between my pelaton app, home CrossFit gym, jogging stroller- I’m always doing something! Right now I am a nursing mother so my nutritional goal is to simply eat nutritious Whole Foods and to make sure I eat ENOUGH.

2. Why do you workout? Do you like competing?

My workout time is my time for myself and I don’t have much of that so it’s important to me. I want to be a role model for my children. Yes, I love competing. When I found CrossFit 10 years ago, I was drawn to the competitive nature.

3. What are your top 3 favorite workout movements?

Hand stand pushups, power cleans, double unders

4. What was your goal for the Open? What is your goal for QF?

My goal was to simply be able to do all of the workouts! Again, QF just to be thankful to have the chance and time to complete them.

5. What is your daytime gig?

Teacher turned full time mom

6. How do you balance working out with life?

It’s very hard! Constant work in progress on that one. Make things priority and get them done early, as the day goes on, things don’t happen!

7. Do you have any other hobbies?

Traveling, reading, doing anything with my family.

8. What advice would you give to ....

someone just starting their workout journey?

someone wanting to reaching QF in the future?

Fitness is in fact a journey. It’s constantly changing and it’s ok to open and close new chapters. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else, it’s always you against you. And don’t put too much pressure on rankings and numbers, they don’t and won’t define who you are as an athlete.
