Please and Thank You

A few years ago I realized, with some help from a book I was reading at the time, thatI was saying please and thank you to strangers more than my wife, Krista. Out shopping or walking down the street if someone held the door for me or helped bag my groceries they would get a please and thank you. However, when Krista would weed the flower bed or make me breakfast I would "take it for granted". I truly appreciate everything she does but I was not letting her know I did.

So I made it a point for the following few weeks to go out of my way to say please and thank you. I felt better about acknowledging it and she appreciated the appreciation. Thishelped our relationship and we grew closer because of it.She started doing the same thing in return as well. I didn't need or ask for it but just by doing it she reciprocated the gesture.

This also lead us to show our appreciation in other ways like making sure we hugged and kissed goodbye every morning and always kissed each other and El goodnight every-night, even if they were sleeping.

This can be used in all parts of your life. Are there people at your work that help you get s*** done, people at the gym that help you clean up after the workout, or do your kids pick up their toys when you didn't ask? Thank them. This show of appreciation will help build relationships and show people you really do care about them.

This is a simple way to show people in your life that you care about them.
