  1.  How did you get started on your CrossFit journey?
I did crossfit back in 2013-2015 but fell out of it once I began my nursing career. The hours of my job did not work with the gym schedule. So I started to work out at home but was not super motivated/consistent. Nate and I moved to Newark in 2019 and I started looking around at local gyms. I stopped into Equity during nurses week and absolutely loved it! I dragged my reluctant husband, Nate, along and we started going to Equity in August 2019.

  2. Best advice for someone thinking of joining?
The first step is the hardest but once you are through those doors, it will be worth it.

  3.  What was your first impression and how has that changed?
My first impression was: I love this place! My impression now: I still love this place!

  4.  What kind of job do you have and does crossfit impact it in any way?
I am a Registered Nurse at Christiana Hospital. I’ve worked in the stroke unit, cardiac catheterization lab, and now in the GI lab. Crossfit has definitely helped with the physical demands of the job. Crossfit has also helped me with patient teaching on active lifestyle, healthier habits, and goal setting.

  5. What do you like to do outside of the gym?
I enjoy anything outdoors. I enjoy camping, hiking, and hanging out with Nate and two dogs, Trolley and Moose.

  6. Best part of being a member of Equity?
The best part about Equity is the culture and the attitude of bettering yourself not only in fitness but in life.
