“That workout looks hard”, “I hate wall balls”, “I had a bad day and don’t feel like working out”, “I’m not getting better”, “I’m always last”.

If you are constantly telling yourself these lines and having similar thoughts all the time, you are not going to enjoy working out. We have to change those thought patterns. We need to set ourselves up for success by cultivating positive, healthy thought patterns.

“This workout looks like a challenge, I bet I can finish the burpees”, “I’m going to try to hold 8s on the wall balls today”, “The gym is such a good stress reliever, can’t wait to just shut my brain off and work hard.", “When I first started I would walk up the stairs and get winded, now I am skipping steps when I go up them”.

This is not just about the gym. What media our you constantly consuming? Is it helping you? Are you constantly scrolling through social media, subconsciously comparing yourself to everyone else or are reading a new book, going for a walk, spending uninterrupted time with your kids, working on your painting skill for you War Hammer figures?

Be purposeful with what you are filling your mind and thoughts with.
