We have 19 of our members make it to the Quarterfinals of the CrossFit Games this year. These individuals are the top 25% of the field. What helps them reach this level of success? Lets find out.
Jennifer qualified for Individual Women
1. How often do you train? What do you do for recovery? What does your nutrition look like?
I train 5-6 days a week. Recovery is going for walks with my dog, massages, sleeping 8 hours a night, hydration, and eating a lot. Nutrition is making sure I’m eating enough which can be hard. I keep it simple. I just make sure I hit my protein goal and calorie goal to build that muscle!
2. Why do you workout? Do you like competing?
I workout for the physical and mental benefits. It’s a huge stress reliever and I genuinely enjoy it. I do really enjoy competing even though I say I don’t lol I just try to have fun, love seeing other people crush it, and I love to push myself!
3. What are your top 3 favorite workout movements?
Honestly it’s probably the stuff I suck at. I enjoy the challenge and finally achieving something I struggle with. So it’s muscle ups, heavy barbell stuff, and Olympic lifting.
4. What was your goal for the Open? What is your goal for QF?
My goal for the open was to just do it and put no pressure on myself. It’s the same goals for QF. Just do it and have fun!
5. What is your daytime gig?
I’m a nurse!! Been doing it for almost 10 years 🙌
6. How do you balance working out with life?
Well working out is life sooo jk but working out is a lifestyle and a huge part of my life. Working out takes priority but when things come up, I get back to it when I can.
7. Do you have any other hobbies?
No lol….
I guess I’m into movies, podcasts, music, walking/hiking with my dog, spending time outside.
8. What advice would you give to ....
someone just starting their workout journey?
someone wanting to reaching QF in the future?
I would say to stick with a plan. Stay consistent and disciplined with your workout and nutrition regimen. Things take time so just be patient and work hard!
