Lindsay Gilliam

How did you get started on your CrossFit journey?  
I was always an active kid, youth and adult but did ALL the cardio and not much with weights. I decided I wanted to get stronger and always passed a CrossFit gym near where I lived. I went in to try it and never looked back.

How long have you been a member at Equity?
I think January 2019? Almost 2 years!!

What was your first impression?
I knew this was the gym I wanted to attend pretty much after my first class. I had tried out 3 other gyms before coming into Equity and since I wasn't new to CrossFit I was able to jump right into the classes and see how the coaches and members all interacted. The vibe I got here reminded me of my old CrossFit gym and I knew I had found my place!

Best advice for someone thinking of joining Equity?
Do it! All workouts can be scaled and modified to help you get your best workout. It's only intimidating if you just stand on the sidelines and watch without ever trying it out.

 How has being a member of the gym improved your life?
I love having a gym family! My family lives 1000+ miles away from me so it is nice to feel so comfortable with the coaches and other members and always have them rooting for me.  I’m a lot stronger than I used to be and that helps me so much at work and daily life in general.
